The Cowgirls have averaged 63 points per game, with all five starters averaging at least 8 points per game. Katie Sockmann has a team-best 14 points, 3 assists and 4 steals per game. Baile eBeer, the other Lemmon guard, avearges 12 points and 3 steals.
Forward Jenna Van Beek nearly averages a double-double, with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals a game. Center Kodee Bolte averages 9 points, 6 rebounds a contest. Julia Blue Arm averages 8 points and 3 steals a game.
The Cowgirls are 22-2 after their worst setback of the season, a 59-35 thumping at the hands of defending champion Warner. Lemmon’s only other loss was a 5-point setback to Beach, N.D., a 21-2 team that was playing to get into the Class B tournament on Thursday.
Beer scored 17 points and Van Beek had 14 points for Lemmon in Thursday’s setback. The Cowgirls did force 23 turnovers on Warner, 11 more than they committed.
Game time between Gayville-Volin and Lemmon will be at noon on Friday.
