So much for that.
The Mount Marty College women’s basketball team was beaten 75-52 by first-time participant Marian (Ind.) in the first round of the NAIA Division II Basketball National Championship on Thursday morning in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Lancers end the season 22-10.
Mount Marty was just 14-of-60 from the field and 6-of-27 on three-pointers. In fact, if you take out the four field goals by leading scorer Jenny Miller, the rest of the team was just 10-of-42.
Hard to figure how the Lancers again went cold in the national tournament. Is it the early morning games? (Both times, MMC played at 8:30 a.m.). Is it the fact that the Lancers hadn’t played in 2 weeks?
At any rate, Mount Marty was sent home with another early exit.
