USD Has New Golf Coach

The first coaching vacancy by new University of South Dakota athletic director David Sayler was filled Thursday when the school announced Nick Hovden as its new head men’s and women’s golf coach.

Hovden, a Vermillion native, was a member of the USD men’s golf team in 2001-02 and graduated from USD in 2004. Hovden has also spent time as a golf instructor at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion and comes to USD after spending two years as a teacher & coach in the Millard Public School District in Omaha, Neb.
