The rivalry between the Yankton Bucks and Sioux Falls O’Gorman Knights will be renewed Friday in Sioux Falls.
The Knights come in at 4-1 and winners of four straight after a season-opening loss to Aberdeen Central. Yankton is 3-2 after dropping last week’s Pioneer Day game to Pierre.
The teams were mainstays in the early days of the state football finals, with four of the first five title games in 11AA being played between the Bucks and Knights. The teams have met 11 times in the post-season, with the Bucks winning six times. Title matchups are a 3-3 split, with the Knights winning the last meeting overall, the 2005 title game.
