** Seemingly the final piece to the USD men’s basketball 2009-10 schedule was set in place Thursday. Marquette announced a Nov. 24 game in Milwaukee against the Coyotes.
** The University of North Dakota announced Thursday that it has extended athletic director Brian Faison’s contract through June 2012.
** Not A Surprise: Ratings for the 2009 MLB All-Star Game were down slightly from last year. Not A Surprise: Ratings were up 3 percent for the pregame show (think: Barack Obama)
** How does Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat & Bruno) keep from getting sued?
** What’s worse: Brett Favre whoring himself again, or the media continuing to cover Favre’s waffling? Or wait, the Minneapolis Star Tribune dedicating an entire page to the quarterback?
** CAUSE: Weekly newspaper in St. Louis publishes addresses of Cardinals players in its All-Star Game preview section. EFFECT: Cardinals revoke paper’s credentials. OK, on the one hand, the addresses are available to the general public (with an Internet database search), but on the other hand, why was publishing those necessary?
** My new favorite site is The Fightins, a blog all about the Philadelphia Phillies.
** How would you feel being taken in the third round of a draft in which no other players were even selected? In fact, you would feel like Jeremy Jarmon.

In lieu of a music video this week, I’ve found an awesome University of South Dakota gem on YouTube. The history and tradition of USD athletics is condensed into this awesome 3-minute clip. Enjoy.
