The biggest of the news of the week can simply be put STATE-U.
For all sports fans in South Dakota, the news Thursday that SDSU and USD will meet in women’s basketball this next season was music to our ears. No more of this when-will-they chatter.
I’ll have an upcoming blog entry all about this, but for now, on to the linkage.
** Due to a scheduling conflict, North Dakota State’s men’s basketball game at Gonzaga for next season has been called off.
** Cole Hamels looked like the Cole Hamels of old Thursday night, firing a 5-hit shutout against the Dodgers. The lefty is 4-0 with a 2.84 ERA in his last seven starts.
** The 15 Greatest Sports Cheats of All Time.
** I actually agree with Jim Souhan when he says Minneapolis Community and Technical College shouldn’t stop funding basketball.
** Mega college Ohio State University seems to have a problem with NCAA violations and sharing details.
** Get ready for a Scream 4, starring Courtney Cox and David Arquette.
** Critics pick their nominees for best TV shows and actors of the decade. Dang it, The Big Bang Theory listed under “Just Missed.”
** Sports Illustrated tells the tale of a 15-year-old Las Vegas kid who hit a 570-foot home run. And not in whiffle ball. Someone call Ripley’s.
