A few University of South Dakota tidbits to get us started this week.
** At 19-8 this season, the Coyote men’s basketball team is tied for the best record of all 15 Division I independents in the country. Also first is Seattle (19-8), third is Utah Valley (17-11). Last is New Jersey Tech (1-30).
** USD men’s basketball recruit Conrad Krutwig is featured in this article by the Daily Herald (suburban Chicago). Highlights: Krutwig leads that area in scoring (21.7) and rebounding (9.0).
** Speaking of recruits, this 6-foot-8 future Baylor player can flat-out dunk. Oh, did I mention she’s a girl? That’s what makes this all the more impressive.
** Think college football bowl games are really “rewards”? Rutgers reported a $184,000 loss for its trip to the PapaJohns.com bowl.
** Interesting piece in the Star Tribune about Hopkins High School (Minn.), whose boys basketball team is undefeated and nationally-ranked. Still, the perception is that the school benefits from outside players.
** Even in these tough economic times, there are bright spots. Such as news that the cast of Seinfeld will reunite with Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm. That’s pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty nice (show reference).
** What if the NBC show The Office was a musical?

This may surprise you, but I caught the end of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday night. The reason? I heard The Fray was performing. The band sang its new song “You Found Me.” And, here it is.
