On The Poll Trip

Both the South Dakota Sportswriters and South Dakota Newspaper Association have started their basketball polls for the 2008-09 season. Neither of these polls comes out until Tuesday morning, but here is a look at my ballot.

Class AA Boys: 1. Lincoln; 2. O’Gorman; 3. Watertown; 4. Roosevelt; 5. Yankton

Class A Boys: 1. Platte-Geddes; 2. Madison; 3. S.F. Christian; 4. St. Thomas More; 5. Elk Point-Jefferson; 6. Sisseton; 7. Tri-Valley; 8. Sioux Valley; 9. Milbank; 10. Clark-Willow Lake

Class B Boys: 1. Hanson; 2. Tripp-Delmont-Armour; 3. James Valley Christian; 4. Dell Rapids St. Mary; 5. Sully Buttes; 6. Viborg; 7. Menno; 8. Faith; 9. Hitchcock-Tulare; 10. Castlewood

I will be the first to admit that there haven’t been enough games or me to accurately gauge how teams look this year, but this is where I see it so far. Agree with me or not, I welcome your comments … unless you’re “ToddWR” or “Pedro1776,” who would turn it into some political war, as they do nearly every topic they post to on our regular newspaper site.
